Don't teach them for the now, teach them for life.
With over eight years of teaching experience, and multiple courses and degrees of study in violin pedagogy, I work hard to help my students achieve their goals. I teach between twenty and thirty students weekly, their ages and abilities ranging from beginners to advanced, college-level musicians. My students have placed in local competitions, All-County, and All-State Orchestras-through which they have learned community outreach and performance etiquette. They are involved in community orchestras, youth orchestras, group classes, and recitals. I have observed and taught the Peabody Preparatory young violinists and violists alongside Rebecca Henry, and attended workshops from Mimi Zweig. I use these experiences to help my own students become well-rounded musicians. I enjoy pushing my students to be the best they can, and I work very hard to ensure they have a healthy, well-balanced foundation of musical knowledge.
The Suzuki Method is very familiar to me. I grew up as a "Suzuki kid" and I have studied the Suzuki teaching philosophy extensively with Beth Titterington and Susan Kempter, and have training in Every Child Can, as well as Suzuki Book 1. In the summer of 2016, I will be training in Book 2 and Book 3.
